About Lynn

Lynn Ann McIntosh of Ardmore, Oklahoma was “Sooner born and Sooner bred” having been born in Norman on January 6th 1941, raised in Tulsa and attended OU for a BA in Psychology and a Masters of Library Science. She is preceded in death by her parents Rex and Maxine Livingston. She leaves a loyal and loving family including son Rob and daughter-in-law Alison McIntosh (Dallas, TX) with 3 children Robert, Elton and wife Ellie, and Cassie; daughter Shannon McIntosh and son-in-law Jody Rath (Los Angeles, CA) with 2 sons Rex and Quinn; and son Tad and daughter-in-law Pam (Plano, TX) with Crayton and wife Clara, Ike and Will; and her 2 sisters, Louise Miller (Claremore, OK) and Leah Pastoret (Slidell, LA). Besides the above mentioned, Lynn leaves tons of cousins, nieces and nephews and amazing friends who were “chosen” family.

She spent the last 25 years of her professional life leading the Southern Oklahoma Library System helping to build a brand and regional resource, which contributed to the area’s cultural and economic vibrancy while making a huge difference in people’s lives. She was a former president of the Oklahoma Library Association and the recipient of Distinguished Service and OLA Legends Awards.

Some of her previous professional roles include Asset Manager for the FDIC and a million-dollar-producing Real Estate Agent.

She was a past President of Kiwanis, a board member of the YWCA, a member of the Oklahoma Humanities Board, President of the Ladies of the Leaf, and a graduate of Ardmore Leadership.  She enjoyed a lifelong affiliation with Kappa Kappa Gamma, having served as a Province Director of Chapters and Founding Advisor of The Princeton University Chapter.

Most importantly she was a relationship builder both personally and professionally. She took great pride in mentoring and supporting the special people with whom she worked and served.

Her personal statement reflects her so adequately:
“Good leaders empower individuals to bridge generations; forge new connections; seek and find unlimited destinations; and along the way, discover a lifetime of serendipity.”

She was a lover and supporter of the Arts, whether it be visual, cinematic, classical music, or the opera. Her favorite vacation spot was Redondo Beach, CA.

Clearly, her favorite pastime was spending quality time with her grandchildren, traveling, going to OU games, riding in the boat at the lakes, watching her grandkids perform on the playing field or on the stage, or simply dining at Cafe Alley.
